Arrrrgg I don't even know if I should sign up for the HSWC let along what team to join. Especially since I haven't written a lot at all lately (eek) and I feel like this summer is going to very busy and also have a lot of ~dramaz~
But still. I really want to do it! Plus I'm sure having a team of people who would give me constructive critique/a reason to stay on the bandwagon would help and maybe might be just what I need???

I’ve finally gotten around to listening to Kendrick Lamar’s “Good Kid, m.a.A.D City,” and I really like it. Great beats and I love his rapping style, especially when it’s higher and more nasal like on “m.a.A.D. City” (the song). It took me a few listens to get used to, but a lot of my favorite artists have unusual voices that I didn’t like at first.

I also love how the album is structured like a memoir, and how it has an almost film-like quality. The subtitle is “a short film by Kendrick Lamar,” and that’s super accurate, because a lot of it is told in snapshots and memories of moments that add together into a story.

 

Also, I am SO EXCITED for Angel Haze’s “Dirty Gold.” The versions of “No Bueno,” “Initiation,” and “A Tribe Called Red” aren’t even the final cuts, and they are SO GOOD I CAN’T EVEN. This is like waiting for FLAG all over again (okay, not that intense). Also, she was "bored" and rapped over the beat of "New Slaves," and it's literally amazing? Like, this is what happens when you are bored? When I'm bored I reread fics for the tenth time? How are you so great? Like how half of John Darnielle's songs don't make it onto one of his albums when they're something I'd wave in everyone's face like I WROTE THIS ISN'T IT FUCKING AWESOME if I wrote them? I don't understand how this happens.

 

Still working on my “Glee” WIP. There are wings, it is becoming wingfic, and there is eldritch city that I thought of before I’d even heard Nightvale, and I don’t want to finish Nightvale because I don’t want be unconsciously borrowing anything.

I also have an idea for a Rose/Kanaya fic in which Rose is a Potterhead and Kanaya is a Twihard (kind of) and they meet after Kanaya does some trolling and become friends. Then romance happens. I have some scenes planned out and I basically can’t with them because they are so cute. I’m still having a hard time with Kanaya’s voice/characterization though (new fandom problems?).

 

         

 Two really important concerns:
1. Why am I not Rose Lalonde so I can date Kanaya Maryam OR Kanaya Maryam so I can date Rose Lalonde. This would also be win because either way I would be fucking badass and also awesome PLUS I would have a girlfriend who is fucking badass and also awesome.
2. Why does dreamwidth not let us have more than fifteen icons are they trying to force me to delete that extra one of Blaine as Nightbird in order to make a Homestuck one because I SEE WHAT YOU ARE UP TO I am on to you dreamwidth. DON'T MAKE ME DO THAT. *clutches Blaine-as-Nightbird close to heart*

Also I am still too lazy to post fic (cough JohnDave ficlet) and also too lazy to actually finish any of the six short ones I have started. Don't even talk to me about the multi-chapter one it was supposed to be done by now and it is at 10,000 words and the plot hasn't even started yet at all.
Is there any particular one anyone would care about reading? Maybe that would motivate me to work on one at a time versus trying to write like a million things at once. 
In no particular order: Quinntana ft. the Unholy Trinity and Rachel, based off of "This Is What Makes Us Girls," which is almost done and is betaed and everything I need to write like two more scenes, "Summertime Sadness," onesided Wilde Rose in which Kitty writes angsty letters from cheercamp and doesn't send them, "Born to Die" in which Kanaya contacts a version of Rose that's on a doomed timeline, "Young and Beautiful" in which Erica Reyes is being haunted by Laura Hale's ghost, or "Blue Velvet" which is ALL THE QUINNCEDES FLUFF. 
And yes they are all totally based off of Lana Del Rey songs/Lana Del Rey covers of songs I'm calling it a series in order to regain my dignity. 

I have five thousand words written of the Klaine/Samcedes thing, two thousand of which I wrote today. I should probably read it over and make sure that all these words make sense, but for now I'll just look at the number and be satisfied. ( crossovers are fun and theater is dangerous )
