It turns out that I do not post on days that I have to work. I also do not post on days when I have to gather together a shitton of school stuff that needs to be in the database in California before Saturday or I might not be able to graduate.
Yeah, that was about as much fun as it sounds like.
But hey, even if I missed the Wednesday reading meme, I can still make a Friday fic post. Alliteration: yes please.

     Here
is a really awesome article called "Nicki Minaj Murdered You on Your Own Shit," about Nicki Minaj, how because of her status as a pop diva as well as a kickass female MC, she has to be pretty much hypervigilant about defending that she is still a kickass female MC. Also how she managed to rap on a track with both fucking Jay-Z and Kanye and still pull focus (seriously her verse is the best part of Monster).

I've also been reading and rereading the the A6A4 series by t34lbloods. These are some of my favorite fics I've found for Homestuck. They're set during Act 6, Act 4, when Dirk meets Jake in person for the first time in their respective lands. Dirk and Jake are both perfect in this, Dirk's touch-starved and desperate and confused and clingy, and Jake's clueless and unsure and shallow and independent, and it makes you realize that neither of them have had any interaction with other humans face-to-face (with the exception of Jake's grandma in his case). The description of being touch-starved made me ache, of not knowing what people want, of pain being at least a touch, and a turn-on too. I already identified with Dirk, and this makes it *hurt*.  The Give My Bones Remix of Inkstick, by feralpheonix, the first in the series, is also great, describing Dirk's isolation before entering the Medium. He gives himself his tattoo, and watches all of the interviews he can find with his Bro, and tries to imitate the way he walks, and  again, everything is feelings and everything hurts.

For Glee, I've been reading the Dead in Ohio by patchfire and raving_liberal. Zombies. Zombies! All of them. The first was written around season one, I think, and I've read it before, but the two new stories are written from the perspective of Stoner Brett and Azimio and Karofsky. It is just as awesome and occasionally gut-wrenching as it sounds.
