Zora if you're reading this I cantered without stirrups today and it was AWESOME. I rode Timmy and he was an excellent little yellow beastie I love him.
Also I had to explain to my sister's friend/my friend's sister what shipping was and apparently my friend already knew about it. It was weird. I used Niall/Leaf (like Niall from One Direction I think) as a ship example because of that one time I went into the neaf tag and it was EVERYONE SHIPPING NIALL/LEAF WUT which was not what I was expecting. At all. Also my friend's sister doesn't watch glee but listens to all of Lea Michele's songs and she was fangirling about O Holy Night and thought Kurt was Rachel's boyfriend. I told her if she likes Lea Michele singing she would like glee and she should watch it. I forewarned her that it was very gay and now I don't think she wants to. :(

I love my sarcastic, gay, singing show, but possibly that description doesn't appeal to everyone. Then again, it's only four main queer characters out of over a dozen so it's not as if it's all-gay-all-the-time. It's just a lot gayer than I'm used to seeing on my TV.

...maybe you could mention that while Kurt isn't dating Michelle Lea (heh. I typed "Michael Lea" and had to come back to fix it), the boy she is interested in is very cute and she'll sing at least every third episode.

Yeah, she's pretty homophobic (we grew up together and her parents are, if such a thing is possible, even more conservative than mine, and we were raised to pretty much hate gay people--there's not a lot of love the sinner hate the sin, which is supposed to be the Church's opinion on homosexuality). I think we as a fandom make it seem as though the queer characters get more screen time and focus then they actually do. xD

See, if she liked, say, Tina's voice, I would say, just give up already. But she'll get lots of Rachel songs if she watches! She is beyond thrilled that Cory and Lea are dating in real life, too. I think she's shipping finchel already.

Every slash fandom does. I mean, given fandom, I'd assume the main characters of Teen Wolf were Derek and Stiles, and was a little amazed to discover neither of them were the main lead (apparently the show is about someone else? But 98% of the fandom is about Derek/Stiles).

With the notable exception of Sherlock. That show really is as much about John and Sherlock as the fandom would have you believe. *g*

I am still disappointed that the show is not about Stiles/Derek. Especially Stiles, who would have ALL THE FRIENDSHIPS with everyone and maybe there would be a few orgies. Sigh.
Moffat is why we can't have nice things. I haven't watched a lot of Sherlock but it seems to be basically: John and Sherlock SOLVE CRIMES and are domestic in the weirdest way. Fandom was right!
